Guy K. Bard Club
The Guy K. Bard Club (GKBC) serves as the fundraising arm of the Ephrata Area Democratic Committee. While it operates independently, the GKBC meets in conjunction with the Ephrata Democrats. Membership in the GKBC requires an annual contribution of $20, which directly supports the committee's events and helps to fund local candidates running for office.
Who was Guy K. Bard?
As a native of Ephrata, Guy K. Bard has had a lasting legacy on the region. Actively involved in the Democratic Party, Bard served as Secretary and President of the Lancaster County Democrats in the 1920s. Following that, Bard served as Pennsylvania's Attorney General and was the first Lancastrian appointed as a Federal Judge by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In honor of his legacy, the Guy K. Bard Club bears his namesake.
